Today is Children's day. The first Festival day to be consecrated to children. Here are two pictures to illustrate this day. Note that the second has a second meaning for the one not accustomed to Turkish football. The colour of the kid's kite are the one of Galatasaray, one of the most successful club in the country but currently in free fall. The kid flies his club's colour high.

Izmir Library
Izmir was once built of 2 storey buildings. Some banks, rich businessmen stone houses or administrations rose over the small Aegean's houses and the firemen watch tower had a sight of the entire city. The watch tower today only stood in the shadow of neighbours’ tower and watch at the hundreds of thousands of book kept in the converted fire-brigade buildings.
