An unknown substance cover the harbour's still waters, note that it may well be organic since it dissolved rapidly.

Sunset
A pilot boat is heading toward an inbound containership.
Pilot boats are designed to stand heavy weather, deep waves and the shocks of the hull of the giants of the sea they board. This boat’s particular hull leaves behind a long trail that expands and ends only to the shore.

the old downtown
From the archives.
The building on the front is no more, a modern cold and impersonal structure took her place, unfortunately. I do not remember this building but as a ruin. The Hilton Hotel in the back was the tallest structure in Turkey when it was build and is still the tallest in the Aegean region, 132 meters and 35 floors.

The Chapman
The grey sector has a very
important place in the Turkish Economy. The more or less legal or tolerated activities
help people to survive without much state aids. The bad point is they create a
somehow unfair competition for established shop owners pushing them to pay as
less as taxes as they can, the good side is it helps keep prices lower.
Here is a chapman
proposing flowers on mainstreet, he is doing this business for years and
everyone knows him as well as if he had had a sign on a showwindow.
